I'm passionate about education, but it takes more than passion to implement positive change. I also have experience.

I've taught in high schools and universities. I've held senior positions in various organisations (implementing lasting, positive change) in IT and publishing, as well as education.

The aim of Level 98 is to implement positive change in education wherever possible.

At the same time Level 98 (and its employees) need to earn a living - we feel this is different to "making a profit".

Level 98 could have been created as a non-profit. However, education is a valuable commodity. We believe sustainable educational change should be able to fund itself as well as deliver social good - there is also a sense in which people and society place more value on things which have a monetary value.

Teachers (of all descriptions) and those who provide educational resources need to be suitably remunerated - but then they should also deliver. We should not accept mediocrity in education but strive for excellence.

DIVERSITY

Level 98 supports diversity in a variety of ways, for example: gender related (such as supporting Women in Physics), socially related (such as laptop programs for disadvantaged students), as well as diversity related to culture and disability.

It aims to achieve this in a variety of ways, from being involved in specific programs, to embedding diversity in its courses (e.g. ensuring examples, and historical references represent the diversity of student backgrounds and are accessible to all).

There's a lot of opportunity (too much sometimes!) in these website templates for a fledgling business such as Level 98... but I'm loathe to delete it, as it provides design ideas and might come in handy!
